made by the West Sacramento Police Department during the past week. The
information includes citizen complaints and other statements that have not
substantiated or verified by an investigation or a courtroom.

Aug. 6, 6 a.m. A 44-year old Southport
man reported that someone disengaged the parking brake of his vehicle while it
was parked on Channel Drive
– causing it to roll into another parked vehicle.
Aug. 7, 4 p.m. A man reported that he “drank a drink at (a
local veterans’ hall) and shortly after that, he did not feel well.”
Aug. 10, 9 a.m. A manufactured home center on the 2500-block
of West Capitol reported that a 23-year old Maple Street man had stolen the
powder-coated aluminum railings from a model home at the site, and then sold
them at a recycling center the next day. The loss was valued at $10,000.
Aug. 10, 10:26 a.m. A
Willow Avenue resident reported that a home was
egged during the night. It was part of an ongoing problem.
Aug. 10, 11:05 a.m. A
Greenwood Avenue resident heard a noise out front
during the night, and then found a spent ammo cartridge outside in the morning.
The resident believed some friends of a neighbor had shot at the house.
Aug. 10, 2:58 p.m. A woman reported that her 11-year old
daughter had been “blackballed” by the vice president of a local youth sports
league, as part of a harassment campaign conducted by the woman’s brother.
Aug. 10, 9 p.m. A 33-year old man on Manzanita Way reported that somebody had
broken the padlock off of a storage unit and taken four 36-packs of Budweiser.
Aug. 12, 12:35 a.m. Police detained several subjects at 8th
and California
streets regarding a series of robberies. An 18-year old male subject appeared
intoxicated and was detained in handcuffs. “While leaning against the hood of a
patrol vehicle, (he) intentionally scratched the paint with the handcuffs.” The
subject was then arrested.
Aug. 12, 1:20 a.m. A 19-year old Mikon Street and second suspect were both
accused of using Mace (tear gas) in an assault on a male transient on Waterfront Street.
They also punched him in the face.
Aug. 12, 6:21 p.m. A witness reported there was a woman laying
down in front of a Westacre Road
fast food restaurant “with her pants down and shirt up.”
Aug. 13, 8:44 a.m. A
caller reported that the license plate had been stolen from a vehicle on Walnut Street
during a recent night. The vehicle belonged to a woman who had died.
Aug. 13, 12:57 p.m. A witness said that some youths conducting a
car wash near Sacramento Avenue
and Douglas were “jumping into traffic to get
drivers’ attention.”
Aug. 13, 3:02 p.m. A resident near 3rd and B streets
said somebody had parked an “older” RV nearby and had been running its engine
for 45 minutes, “making the neighborhood stink from the old engine smell.”
Aug. 13, 8:04 p.m. A woman reported an incident at Merkley and
West Capitol. She said two subjects had held something to her neck and said
“give me your money.” She gave it to them, but “the subjects gave the money
back after being seen by another citizen, and said ‘we were just joking.’” The
woman, though, thinks they had truly intended to rob her.
Aug. 13, 4:03 a.m. A 40-year old man was arrested after a
domestic violence incident in the north area. The man used a knife to cut his
live-in girlfriend on the face, neck and chest, and punched her. He fled but
was located later and arrested.

Aug. 13, 5:46 p.m. On Sacramento
Avenue, woman said her daughter and a friend had
stolen and fraudulently cashed two of the woman’s checks, for $400 each. They
drafted the checks and used a fake “permission note” to cash them.
Aug. 13, 8:46 p.m. Police responded to an altercation at Pecan Street, and
detained four people. One had lacerations to his brow and a “disfigured”
lacerated ear, and ID’d a 23-year old local resident as the person who hit him
several times in the face with a glass vase. The victim said the pair had
argued over a $50 loan. The suspect was arrested.
Aug. 13, 10:16 p.m. Officers contacted a 20-year old woman on the
900-block of West Capitol after she made repeated 911 calls. They found her
under the influence of methamphetamine, and she admitted having used the drug
five hours earlier. She was jailed.
Aug. 13, 11:38 p.m. A woman reported that her friend’s vehicle
had been shot, with three bullet holes, while parked on Maple Street. The woman and friend were
inside a residence at the time and were unhurt.
Aug. 14, 8:45 a.m. A vehicle was reported to have been
burglarized during the night at apartments on Touchstone Place. Gone were a remote gate
control, iPod charger, GPS unit, a case of CDs, and other items. The suspect
possibly used a crowbar.
Aug. 14, 8:54 a.m. A citizen on Kathy Circle reported a “loose aggressive
dog tried to attack.” The dog was described as large and tan.
Aug. 14, 9:42 a.m. A female caller translated a call from her
mother, reporting that a Nissan Maxima had been stolen sometime after noon the
prior day from Touchstone Place.
Aug. 14, 9:59 a.m. A boat tire was found slashed on Delaware Avenue.
Shortly afterward, another caller reported finding car tires slashed on Vermont Avenue.
Aug. 14, 12:38 p.m. A citizen said that a couple of boys around
17-year old were on bikes in front of a retail store on the 1200-block of West
Capitol, “blasting air horns” and “yelling at customers.”
Aug. 14, 1:48 p.m.
A man said that a security guard in a drugstore
on the 1200-block of West Capitol had been harassing him and had “bumped into”
the man’s wife.
Aug. 14, 2:17 p.m. A woman reported
that her boyfriend had pushed her and then ransacked her north-area apartment.
Aug. 14, 4:54 p.m. An Alabama
Avenue resident believed someone had tampered with
the household’s mail. A credit card offer and other mail had been torn open.
Aug. 14, 6:49 p.m. A woman received information from another
parent that her 13-year old girl “had been intimate with an 18-year old male.”
Aug. 14, 7:51 p.m. A caller wanted to talk to an officer to
report that a child custody exchange did not happen, as required by court
order, at a fast food restaurant on the 2700-block of West Capitol.
Aug. 14, 8:22 p.m. A Southport
grocery store had a “cooperative” female shoplifting suspect in custody.
Aug. 14, 9:22 p.m. A woman reported that she had just lost her
cell phone at a Riverpoint Court
retail store. She then contacted her cell phone company, which said it had been
able to trace the phone’s current location. The company told her to contact
police and file a report.
Aug. 14, 1:55 a.m. A 19-year old man and his girlfriend argued
in their north-area home. The man jumped on the woman, and bit her on the nose,
forehead and arm, leaving injuries noted by officers. He left the scene but was
found at a friend’s home and arrested.
