Cell Tower Update 9.21.11

From the News-Ledger
Feb. 16, 2011

By Steve Marschke
News-Ledger Editor

  It’s official:

West Sacramento will have its own farmers’ market this year, on Thursday evenings from May 19 through September. The market is planned for a space across from city hall, behind Walgreen’s and between Merkley and West Capitol Avenues.

The organizers at the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce have just put out a call for “certified producers,” and invite local farmers to apply. The Chamber can provide guidance on getting state certification as a “certified” provider.

The Chamber earlier told the News-Ledger that the local farmers market aims to bring farmers to town to sell their goods directly to West Sacramentans. The Thursday night event is scheduled so as not to conflict with neighboring markets such as those in Davis and Sacramento. This will allow farmers to be at each local market.

The market is planned to run from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday evenings.

Interested West Sacramento and Yolo County farmers may call 371-7042 or email marketinfo@wsfarmersmarket.com.
