West Sacramento firefighters are using the former local library branch at 1212 Merkley Avenue for training. Here, they drill by carrying a hose through the front door of the old Arthur F. Turner Branch on July 22. The library branch has vacated the premises, moving temporarily to the corner of Merkley Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard. After the old building is demolished, and rebuilt, the branch will move back in.
